What are the Healthy Homes Standards?

The Healthy Homes Standards, which became law on 1 July 2019, introduced minimum standards for heating, insulation, ventilation, moisture ingress and drainage, and draught stopping in rental properties in New Zealand.

If the deadlines are not met, fines of up to $4,000 may be incurred if landlords are taken to the Tenancy Tribunal. Learn more on how to avoid penalties in our free guide
